New in 123FormBuilder: Inline Editing for Faster Field Customization
Creating and managing online forms became even more effortless with 123FormBuilder’s new Inline Editing feature. We designed it to streamline the form-building experience; inline editing eliminates the extra clicks and side-panel navigation, letting you update field labels and options directly in the form preview.
What is Inline Editing?
Inline editing allows users to directly adjust text elements like field labels, titles, and descriptions on the form preview. Instead of opening a settings panel or sidebar, click on the text you want to change and start typing. It’s fast, intuitive, and saves valuable time—especially when working on complex or content-rich forms.

Inline Editing Menu Bar
When you click to edit a text element on your form, a floating inline menu bar appears above the selected field. This menu provides quick access to formatting and structural tools that help you easily fine-tune your form content.
Once you open a form in the 123FormBuilder form designer, you’ll notice that text fields like titles, labels, and descriptions are now directly editable. Just click on the element you want to change, type in your update, and click outside the box to save. It’s that easy.
The inline menu bar differs slightly for the Text content field from all other fields. This allows you to choose the Text size (Normal or different Heading sizes from H1 to H6), Font, and Font size.
These inline editing options are available across all supported form fields and instructions, offering a unified editing experience:
- Text Formatting (Bold, Italic, Underline): Quickly style your text for emphasis and clarity.
- Text Color: Customize text color to match your form design by selecting colors that complement your brand identity and enhance readability.
- Transparency: Adjust the color opacity to control how see-through or solid an element appears. This allows background elements to show through at varying levels, creating depth and layering effects in your design.
- Add URL: Embed links directly into form labels or instructions to guide users to relevant content.
- Numbered & Bullet Lists: Click the bullet icon once for a bullet point, twice for a numbered list, and a third time to remove the list.
- Text Alignment: By default, text is left-aligned. Clicking the alignment button will cycle through center, right, justify, and back to left alignment.
