Every eShop is different, and, as such, every eShop will find different ways to convert their visitors into customers. Test out your hypotheses and see what works and what doesn&#8217;t &#8211; you might be surprised!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>A Mindset Exercise: Be Like the Best Checkout Pages of 2019\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You obviously want to increase your mobile conversion rate, especially with the massive pool of potential buyers scrolling down on their smartphones as we speak. Do keep in mind, however, that the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/ecommerce\/ecommerce-analytics\/ecommerce-conversion-rates\/\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">average mobile conversion rate<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> circles around the 2% mark for both Android and iOS (and is slightly higher on desktop). The more people you attract and the more they order, the more your business will grow &#8211; but that conversion tipping point is absolutely crucial, because, unfortunately, clicks and time on a page don&#8217;t pay the bills.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the other hand, there are more than <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.internetlivestats.com\/total-number-of-websites\/\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1.7 billion websites live<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, as of the beginning of September 2019. Out of these, only <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rjmetrics.com\/2014\/06\/18\/how-many-ecommerce-companies-are-there\/\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">110,000 are eCommerce websites<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that generate meaningful revenue.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At a global level, only a very handful excel at transforming their mobile checkout pages in mean, lean, conversion machines. That&#8217;s great news for you, though, mostly because:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You do have great examples to learn from\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You now know there&#8217;s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">plenty<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of room on the market for you too\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The examples we have included in the previous section come from some of the best checkout pages on the internet. It is not a guarantee that they will always stay the same &#8211; times, they are a-changin&#8217; and, without doubt, the eCommerce checkout best practices will change again, and again, and then some more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This continuous change is not there to keep you on your toes; it&#8217;s just how the world works. It all tends to be particularly true in the digital world, where everything can be turned upside down and inside out in a matter of hours.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is no recipe for the best checkout of all times. Mostly, you can (and should) rely your choices on:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Observations you make based on your experience<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Observations you make based on others&#8217; expertise\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Studies and research papers you can read<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Professional advice from marketers, marketing blogs, etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some rules that stay more or less the same<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other than that, you might find that your pursuit of the best checkout design is not an overnight matter. It can very frequently be a trial and error matter. It can be a matter that requires excellent implementation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be realistic! You can definitely provide the best online checkout experience &#8211; but it takes testing, patience, and determination to get there, just like it takes months of care and attention to detail to see rapeseed blooming into those stunning yellow fields we see in May.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nothing happens overnight. Mankind itself didn\u2019t happen overnight. Agriculture doesn\u2019t happen overnight.
